Founder and Owner
Sarah came to start this company with a degree in Environmental Science and five years experience of teaching outdoor education and working manual labor jobs. She designs the products, manages production, financing, marketing and sales.
Donna is originally from North Carolina but considers herself a Montanan since she has been here over 40 years! She has been married for 33 years to her husband Don and together they have three children, four grandchildren and one great granddaughter. They love them all to pieces! She enjoys walking, cross country skiing, biking, reading, cooking (and eating!), and, her favorite thing to do is spend time with her family.
Bree has been a loyal customer since her sister Kami’s premier in the (in)famous ‘Truck Commercial.’ As a strategic consultant, she is having a blast dialing in processes and helping Calhoun to identify and achieve goals. In the fall, she can be found upland bird and waterfowl hunting with her black lab, Scully. She lives in Bozeman with Scully and her husband, John.
Allie works as a creative consultant for Red Ants Pants and Red Ants Pants Music Festival. She is the web and graphic designer for much of what you see at both companies. Allie is also an onsite manager at the Red Ants Pants Music Festival. She lives in Boulder, CO with her beagle and repurposes vintage clothing in her spare time. She has a passion for American manufacturing and is committed to making “Made in the USA” cool again.
Bethany works as a remote consultant (and sometimes temporary staff member) for Red Ants Pants, providing business and marketing strategic planning and tour support. She also assists with the Red Ants Pants Foundation, as a Coordinator for the Timber Skills Workshops and as management staff for the Red Ants Pants Music Festival. She has a passion for chainsaws, high heels, Karmann Ghias, and her four furry kids. Yep…she’s one of those people.
Natalie Gilmer is our faithful accountant. She earned her Master of Professional Accountancy degree from Montana State University in 2006. Once upon a time, she served as an AmeriCorps VISTA in our fine community and thoroughly enjoys being involved in our community again. She now lives in Bozeman with her handsome husband and two young sons.
Contract Production Manager
Rose has worked in various facets of the outdoor and apparel industries since 2004. She first got into the industry sewing bags in Portsmouth, NH and since has worked in pattern making, apparel and technical product development, and production management. She enjoys roaming the mountains of Montana in all seasons.
Aka: Nellie Bellie, our faithful shop dog and dear friend. Border Collie, Australian Shepherd and Heeler, she does a terrific job of herding Magpie. She will often be found in the front shop window, and no…the little doggie in the window is most definitely not for sale. But she will give you plenty of loving when you come visit.
Oh if cats could be human….this feline has more character than most. Perhaps it’s her mustache, perhaps just her crazy spirit. She will happily greet you in the shop with full volume hellos…until Nellie herds her away from the attention.
BOARD OF ADVISORS
LEFT TO RIGHT: Sarah Hamlen, Alan Deibert, Richard Siberell, Sarah Calhoun, Mark Terwilliger
Here at Red Ants Pants we believe in mentors. We have learned that it is a really good idea to ask for help from the wise folks who have paved the way before us. We have annual board meetings and regular gatherings, often floating the beautiful Yellowstone River. This board has so much incredible skill and experience in business planning, product design, sourcing, and production, and we are constantly humbled by their generosity.
